If a west-facing room gets uncomfortable from mid-afternoon on no matter what the thermostat says, that's solar heat coming straight through the glass, and the AC ends up fighting it for hours every day.

You've angled the couch and tried the blinds, and there's still a white stripe across the screen at the hour you actually want to watch something.
Fading floors and furniture
Hardwood goes a shade lighter where the sun lands, rug edges fade, and upholstery loses color on the side that faces the window. That's UV damage, and it adds up every daylight hour.
Daytime privacy from the street
Big windows facing the street bring in great light, but they also let everyone see in. Curtains solve that, but then you lose the light you wanted in the first place.

How Home Film Works
Installed on the inside of the glass you already have
Home window film goes on the interior surface of your existing windows. It rejects a share of the sun's heat and UV right at the glass, before it warms the room or fades the floors. From inside, the glass still looks clear. From the yard, filmed windows look a touch darker and catch more sky.

Home window tinting questions
Does home window film actually reduce heat?
Yes, and you'll notice it most on glass that gets direct sun. Film rejects a share of the sun's energy at the window before it can radiate into the room, so the biggest change shows up in the rooms that overheat every afternoon.
How much depends on exposure. A west-facing wall of glass shows a much bigger change than a shaded north window ever will, which is why we look at your windows before promising anything.
Can people see in at night?
At night, yes, they usually can. Daytime-privacy film works on light imbalance: during the day it's brighter outside than inside, so from the street your glass reads as reflection. After dark, with your lights on, that flips, and film can't stop it.
If night privacy matters (bedrooms, bathrooms, a lit living room facing the road), the right tool is custom window shades. We do both, so you'll get the right answer either way.
Will film stop my furniture from fading?
It slows fading a lot, but nothing stops it entirely. UV is the biggest single cause of sun fading, and blocking it at the glass is the most effective thing you can do for floors, rugs and upholstery. Heat and visible light play a part too, so no film makes a room fade-proof. What it buys you is years of extra life.
Does film hurt the glass or void my window warranty?
This is why film has to be matched to the glass. Sealed double-pane and specialty units handle film differently than a single-pane picture window, and putting the wrong film on the wrong glass is how problems start. Matching them correctly is part of the job.
On warranties: some window manufacturers include film clauses in theirs, so it's worth checking your paperwork. We'll talk through your glass type with you before any film goes on.
What does home window tinting cost?
It depends on three things: how much glass you're covering, the film that fits the job, and how accessible the windows are. A two-story foyer window is a different job than a kitchen slider.
